Experiencing the thrill of speed on the open road is unparalleled, especially when behind the wheel of a sleek sports car. The Chevrolet Corvette has long been a favorite among sports car enthusiasts. To mark its 70th anniversary, Chevrolet has introduced two new models: the Corvette Stingray and the high-performance Corvette Z06.
Performance and Power
The redesigned Corvette Stingray boasts its most potent engine yet—a 6.2L LT2 V8 delivering 495 horsepower and 470 lb-ft of torque. It can reach up to 194 mph, aided by an eight-speed dual-clutch transmission. Meanwhile, the new Z06 surpasses all previous models, featuring a 670-horsepower naturally aspirated V8 with a unique flat-plane crank architecture that grants it an exhilarating growl. It achieves 0-60 mph in only 2.6 seconds and reaches 8,600 rpm.
Both models showcase striking aesthetics with multiple color options. The Corvette Stingray features a ceramic white leather interior accented with red stitching and red seatbelts. Its wheel design includes forged aluminum with a carbon flash finish and red stripe, adorned with Chevrolet’s 70th anniversary logos. The Z06’s design emphasizes wider fenders, quarter panels, and fascia details, including removable spoilers and cooling ducts for improved performance and visual appeal.
Safety features on the new Stingray include active handling stability, traction control, airbags, HD rear vision camera, OnStar®, and rear park assist. Higher trims provide advanced options like front HD cameras, cross-traffic alerts, and blind zone detection. The Z06 is expected to include similar or enhanced driver-assist technologies.
Both models come equipped with a 12-inch digital display, wireless charging, and a Bose 14-speaker audio system. An optional performance data recorder captures HD videos and real-time driving metrics, perfect for track days. Available as both coupe and convertible, the Stingray's starting price is $64,200 for the base trim, while the convertible begins at $71,700. The Z06’s pricing starts at $105,000 for the coupe and $112,500 for the convertible.
