Installing Your Own Above-Ground Pool Liners

While it might seem challenging initially, replacing your pool liner can be straightforward with the right tools and instructions. Follow these simple steps to replace your above-ground pool liner.

Drain the Pool
Use a high-capacity pump to remove the water. Once most of the water is drained, cut the liner at the base with a utility knife. Continue pumping out any residual water to make the process easier.

Remove the Old Liner
After draining, cut the liner into sections with a razor knife. Roll up the sections and discard them over the pool wall. For overlap liners, you may need to release top rails before removing the liner—refer to your pool’s manual for specific instructions.

Prepare the Pool Surface
Smooth out uneven areas on the floor, especially if you have a sand bottom. Add fresh sand if necessary to create a level surface.

Install the New Liner
