Different Types of Batteries Used in Golf Carts

The total voltage needed depends on how these batteries are combined within the cart.

Typically, a 36V golf cart uses six 6V batteries, whereas a 48V model may feature eight 6V or six 8V batteries. Higher voltage generally means more power and increased lifespan.

Electric golf carts specifically require specialized batteries that can store sufficient power to propel the vehicle. It’s advisable to recharge batteries after each use to maintain performance.

Deep cycle batteries

Widely used by golf courses, Trojan has been producing reliable batteries since 1952. They offer sealed AGM, GEL, and wet deep cycle options, many of which are maintenance-free. Proper use, maintenance, and regular charging extend their lifespan, typically lasting between 2 to 7 years.
